We seek to reassure our minds, which are put to the test because of these big decisions, which will have a big impact on our lives depending on how important they are.
A choice will never be obvious. It comes with hardships, even if it is one that aims to change the life of the person. We are not taught that a test has the sole purpose of making us grow, of helping us develop as human beings.
So why does making a decision always come down to the heavy task of doubting ourselves, or changing our lives, which until then, we thought were shaped so well? On the flip side, without these choices and trials, how can we learn from ourselves, our limits, our weaknesses? Isn't life an adventure that teaches us first about ourselves, to transform it into what we really expect from it?
For that, it takes courage to understand that the direction we have taken is not the right one, and that the choices we have to make are not simply there to readjust a life that leads us towards a superficial goal, but an apprenticeship of ourselves, with indulgence and goodwill. We are not taught to forgive ourselves for bad choices, because there is never a bad choice in the end. We learn from mistakes, and only from mistakes. They can hurt, they can make us doubt, they can obstruct the truth, but they are never bad. When everything is going so well that there is no doubt or judgment about our lives, we do not question whether our choices, our actions take us where we really want to be. Knowing ourselves can become a test, if each time we take a step, we judge, starting with ourselves. Courage does not come from the fact that we make this choice, but from making this choice despite the disagreements that it brings in our existence. It is important to remember where we place our hearts in times when these choices bring up the wounds of the past, the wounds of an insecurity that dominate the existence of humanity, locking us into lives that do not reflect what we want for ourselves. Courage begins with accepting that change comes with great adversity, only to get us to make the right choices.
Living a life to which we aspire is never easy, because society directs us towards a life that requires us to extinguish a part of ourselves. These choices serve as trials that bring our true selves to light.
Self love is the most important thing that should matter to Us - not the praise and popularity that we get from others. Loving ourselves is the biggest part of self that should matter to Us and not to others. What is the greatest risk in ONE life: not learning how to love yourself, not forgetting yourself, or trying to fit into this society?
